Mower Repair and Maintenance by Mike F and Perry L

Both Mike and Perry put some time in transporting the  the lawnmower this week over to Mike’s and repairing it. I’m not 100% who did what other than they were both involved in getting it back into good operating condition.  It’s an awesome job as you can see by the photos.  Here’s the message Mike sent along with the photos.

“Costs
Spark Plug………………..$2.38

Blade Drive Belt……..$42.24
30w Motor oil 3pnts….$7.59
Air Filter ……………….$21.15

In addition to the parts replaced above I have made a donation to the club for the following things: New fuel filter, New rear end gear oil, Mower deck Rustoleum paint, New Zerk fitting, Grease, Two new head lights, 6 clevis pins & 12 washers, 4 new wire connectors , 3 cans of degrease.

I went through it from top to bottom and fixed just about everything I could find that wasn’t up to snuff. We had one frame to deck bracket that was worn all the way through so I welded that back to complete & re-drilled to the original size. I went through all the other brackets on the mower deck that were only elongated & filled in with weld and re-drilled their holes back to round. I did notice the deck has a few rust holes through the top of it on the right side, but I didn’t have the right thickness of steel here at the house and Lowe’s & Home Depot didn’t carry what we would need so I will get that once the grass slows down its growing or next time its in for repairs.

Thanks Mike and Perry”
