Mike’s P-38 Maiden

I was out at the field on Saturday this last weekend and was fortunate to catch Mike getting ready to maiden his profile’ish P-38. After a little bit of work he was ready to go! The landing was a bit hot as he was worried about losing an engine on the landing. As you can see in the video he was pretty happy about that flight.  Congrats Mike! Sorry about the video quality, I shot it on my cell phone.

IMAX Fighter Pilot Film

Wayne sent this link over to me for the website. It’s a great IMAX Video about a fighter pilot with some good videography. It’s about 48 minutes long but well worth the watch. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy.  Don’t forget to set it for high resolution (click on the gear on the bottom right once the video starts playing) and go full screen for the best effect.

<this video was removed by the original uploader, sorry guys>

Video From Indoor Flying at UCCC

Here’s some video from February’s indoor flying at Ulster County Community College. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and there was a broad variety of aircraft the pilots there as usual. It’s a fun time and if you have something small to fly indoors or just want to hang out you should make it out to the one coming in March. I’ll get the date from JohnS and update the site with it.

Big Jug 47 in Primer

Received this via email – Scott Prossen’s P47 Thunder Bolt “Razor Back” 29%,  143″ wing span, 124 Lbs, Moki 400 gas engine in primer paint. It’s a big and beautiful scale aircraft in the making.

Green Mountain Flyers and Hoosick Aeromodelers Video

I was out last Saturday with Ollie to go to the Green Mountain Flyers 3D Fest and we swung by Barn Speed to see what was going on there. Joe mentioned that there was also another fun fly that would be featuring Kyle Stacey at the Hoosick Aeromodelers event.  I’ve got a couple of videos posted which I’ll share here, and I will try to get more posted tomorrow.  The First two videos are of a 50% Sbach 342 at the Green Mountain 3D Fest and the third video is Kyle Stacey flying a Logo 500 helicopter.

It was pretty wet out there overall and quite windy at the GMF field, but surprisingly barely any wind at the Hoosick field.  That didn’t keep people from working in some good flights for people to enjoy.

Reversible Pitch Propeller

I was forwarded this video from WayneB. The video is footage from RCUniverse at the Electric Tournament of Champions(ETOC) 2009 with RJ Gritter flying the plane. The plane has a reversible pitch prop which makes for a spectacular flight. It…
